Hi guys,

Hi Guys - sad to hear that you have not been able to resume the race.  Please be back later!

Hi Oleg and Crew

Its terribly unfortunate that such a great effort has been thwarted (hopefully temporarily) by the global financial crisis. We are all aware what has been involved in bringing a campaign like this as far as you have, effectively on your own. Strenght of character like that is very rare.

Well done and good luck in securing funding.

Hey, is anybody out there? Absolutely agree with Alexander (below). We want Kosatka and the original Team Russia back in the game. We need not only to talk about it but also develope some action. We would love to contribute if Kosatka´s account is published. The Team might not feel comfortable with this. There is a solution: we can buy for exmaple a photo of the boat with signatures...for certain amount of money. Each of us have little time and little money, say Americans, to suppor good thing. Why don´t w make good busyness?

It is so sad to hear that you have had to suspend racing, but we are keeping our fingers crossed you can rejoin the race in Rio (or further on if necessary) + we will be here to support you wherever smile
We hope you have all had a truly amazing time coming from Alicante to Singapore and we are already missing you. Good luck with finding a sponsor!

Guys,

It’s a pity that such good team with a good perspectives is not available to participate. Might it be worth to organise some kind of donation fund for the team and promote it on the VOR site? I bet that at least 10% of site’s visitors will donate, at least for some of the legs.

Hope to see You in St.Petersburg, where i plan to sail to meet You on the finish line!

Regards,
And let me know the account number where to transfer first donations!

Hello Team-Russia, My name is Igor Derkachoff. In year 2007 I was a part of the team(Oleg Zherebtsov and Austrian Crew), on VO60 “Venom”, crossing Atlantic Ocean from Spain to Brazil. From the news on volvooceanrace.org, I know that the crew has to take the boat to Cape Town from Singapore while the team management going to raise the funds.
I would love to participate in above crossing and to sponsor my trip on the “Kosatka”
I personally live in Seattle, WA the home town of Microsoft Corp. and I have relatives working for this company. Based on these facts I will do my best to participate in finding the sponsorship from the above corporation.
With Respect, Igor Derkachoff

Dear Andy, dear Crew!

you did such a great job in this race, all your friends and fans here in Austria are proud of you and the Kosatka-Team! We are so sorry to hear from your sponsorship problems. There are so many rich guys in Russia and in Austria, from Abramovic to Mateschitz… a Gazprom-logo or some Red Bull-Designs would not really disturb, don´t you think so?
We are wishing you a successful New Year 2009 with new sponsors and lots of money!!
Yours,
Bernd

Dear Crew,

Thanks for a fantastic time with you—it was quite a thrill to see you sailing in the Internet and everything around. That was a rare and a precious time. But while there is a hope—I wish you to find a good solution to contunue the race.

And I’m very grateful for Oleg for such a gift for Russia sailing fans—quite an outstanding and amazing deed. Wish you every success in your business, Oleg!

Yours,
ilia

message from Carina Plachy on December 24 2008

I am very disappointed for this giving up. I hope you’ll get sponsorship in future competitions because it’s not only sailing but also supporting environmental campaigns and other worldwide aid news spreading.

From Alicante for all the crew: please, have a happy new year (“s nobim godam”) and we wait to see you sailing again in a while.

FORZA!!

Sad to hear you leaving the race. Why dont you ask Mr. V.Putin.Can he resist the the risk that a russian team will NOT sail into his own home town St.Peterburg. A town that celibrated its 300 years aniversiry some years ago.
Keep it going guys

message from kai munch on December 24 2008

Hi Kosatka!
It is a disgrace for all sorts of sports is the money donated to the window just for sailing, there are no Support.
