Simon is Team Russia’s winch guru and maintenance engineer for the hardware on Kosatka. His experience in his technical shore crew role was gained working with +39 America’s Cup team 2004 - 2007. He also worked for Team GBR providing technical support.

A keen skiff sailor, Simon sails Australian 16 ft and 18 ft skiffs, Musto skiffs and 49 ers.  When he’s not hanging from a trapeze wire he enjoys rugby union.  His worst sailing moment was sinking during a two handed delivery 40 miles off Oussant earlier this year (March 08).  While his best moments are tucking into pizza after spending the day Musto skiffs sailing in Lake Garda in 25 knots of wind.
