Thomas is Team Russia’s legal adviser. An active sailor and board member of the Austrian Sailing Association, he was responsible for marketing the Austrian Olympic Sailing Team in Sydney 2000. Thomas has competed in the Sardinia’s Cup and Admiral’s Cup as well as taking part in the Maxi World’s and the Hong Kong Challenge.

When not sailing Thomas enjoys mountaineering and music. His worst moment sailing was capsizing due to a rudder breaking and being thrown over board in the northern Adriatic Sea in mid December. His best moment was surfing the waves during the South and North Atlantic crossings.
