Vladimir Kulinichenko (Kuli) has an engineering background and world-class sailing and sail making experience. He has been involved in projects ranging from Whitbread campaigns to schooners, tall ships and IMS racing projects, over the span of thirty-five years and over 150,000 miles.

Born in Alexandrovsk-Sahalinskiy, Sahalin Isle, Russia, Kuli was on the orginal Soviet Whitbread Round The World Race entry Fazisi in 1989/1990.  He also sailed in the the 1993/94 Whitbread Round the World Race on Hetman Sachgaidachny,Odessa.

His current home town is Milford, CT, USA.  As a Russian, he is excited to be part of Team Russia and hopes to be able to complete the final leg into St Petersburg.  He is also looking forward to dancing on the beach in Rio - just one of his many ambitions.
